Open Destinations Connects Directly with Major Hotel Chains

Monday, October 19, 2015 11:29 AM
Open Destinations has further expanded their range of supplier integrations to include a new direct connection with Hilton Hotels.  Through the company’s reservation software, Travel Studio, the Open Destinations client base will now have seamless access to more than 4,400 Hilton Hotels in 97 countries worldwide.

Open Destinations CEO Kevin O’Sullivan thinks that this new development is a sign of changing times in the tour operating sector. ‘The supply chain is shifting rapidly,’ says O’Sullivan. ‘Hotels and airlines are demanding more control over the distribution of their product, which has been evidenced in the growth of channel management services over the past several years.  We think that direct integrations with hotel chains and airlines will start to become commonplace for our clients going forward.’

The addition of the new hotel chain is the latest in a series of integrations that the company has completed over the past year. This includes air interfaces with Jetstar, Air Arabia and Aer Lingus, as well as integrations with large bedbanks such as Miki Travel, JacTravel and Diethelm Travel Group.  The company has also migrated more channel managers into their Channel Management API, which is used by many hotels to update rates and availability directly for their tour operator and wholesaler clients.

‘Our Travel Studio software now provides one of the deepest integrations in the industry today,’ says O’Sullivan. ‘Our clients are able to make bookings with suppliers on every continent using our scalable system that supports over 75 million searches a day.’

O’Sullivan confirms that the company has more airlines and hotel integrations in the pipeline for 2016, with particular focus on the expanding Asia market.

The Open Destinations team will be on-site at ITB Asia 2015 (Stand D45) and World Travel Market 2015 (Stand TT428) to demo the latest version of Travel Studio and continue their product expansion.
