Rules Engine
The rules engine in Travel Studio allows an extensive library of rules to be configured that control the presentation, pricing, availability and distribution of your product database. The rules have a wide variety of criteria, triggers and events to ensure that the most complex of scenarios can be met in the system.
Content Management
We have purposely designed Travel Studio to give you the flexibility of integrating Travel Studio within your own web site design and content management systems. Our XML based interface, can be integrated to your site by our experienced web developers or by your own web developers to power your online booking and online customer portals. Alternatively, we can provide pre-built modules within an open source content management system (CMS) providing a fast track, cost effective route to an online presence for your company. Addition of additional content such as blogs, wikis, weather and event information alongside Travel Studio product content and reservations process is easily delivered within the CMS.
Product Distribution
The Travel Studio Application Programming Interface (API) provides the ability to distribute your products electronically to your main trading partners and onwards to online travel distribution channels. Travel Studio is being successfully used by numerous major online brands to create thousands of online bookings per day.
Configure the system to Your Company
Travel Studio is designed to be implemented in different business environments and can be configured to mirror your existing business processes. Setting up your own search trees, product attributes and pricing structures enables you to mould the system to your organization.
Dynamic Packaging
Itineraries can be built completely from scratch or can be created from a range of pre-configured itineraries and then tailored to the requirements of the customer. This flexible packaging functionality allows a tailored reservation to be built quickly and efficiently whilst tracking all supplement costs for presentation to the customer. All products and flights can be included in this process ready for immediate presentation or quoting to the client.
Pricing Structures
Travel Studio allows you to apply multiple buying rates against a single product. Each buying rate can then have multiple selling rates loaded to support different clients, brands or markets.
Within a booking the system will automatically select the appropriate selling rate associated with a client or distribution channel. Travel Studio is a multi-currency
system and can be configured to present prices at set exchange rates or dynamically calculate based on an exchange rate system in the database.
Allocations Engine
Travel Studio contains a sophisticated allocations engine. You can divide your inventory between clients, packages, Internet channels and configure both release periods and free-sell details.
As Travel Studio is Internet enabled it also supports allocation specifically for different usage scenarios, allowing you to control the allocations you make available online.
Extensive Notes Support
Product notes are automatically generated to maintain a history of your relationship with suppliers and clients. Pop-up notes can be configured to inform users of problems or important information the moment they create or amend a booking for a client or use a specific product.
Travel Studio will also automatically generate history notes whenever a major change occurs, for example, changing the prices in a booking, changing a client or supplier address, deleting services from a booking.
Document & Message Creation
The Travel Studio Messaging system allows you to design and send messages to your clients and suppliers. Travel Studio gives the user a simple, easy to use interface for both building templates and sending messages.
Messages can be linked to specific suppliers and clients or linked to groups for clients/suppliers using specific languages. Once created the messages are stored within Travel Studio in view only mode so that users can see any documentation that has been
issued. A variety of different formats are supported along with the ability to include product images based upon the itinerary created.
Customer Service Questionnaire (CSQ)
The questionnaire module in Travel Studio allows you to design your own questionnaires tailored to a client booking and collect CSQ feedback electronically.
The CSQ is designed via a web interface. After the customer has departed, an automatic e-mail is sent to them inviting them to complete the online CSQ. All completed CSQs can then be viewed by you, or they can be accessed individually from the booking in Travel Studio.
Workflow Management
The Task Manager allows workflows to be configured for each of your booking types including pre-defined processes and events to take place based on specific criteria (e.g. 60 days before travel send final documentation or check whether the customers have the
required Visa). The tasks can be integrated with Microsoft Office and will automatically generate emails and documents as directed. Tasks can also be configured to run SQL database scripts and therefore support complex business scenarios.
The Travel Studio Task Manager will enable your business to improve customer service levels and save time by automating manual tasks.
Interfaces into Standard Accounts Packages
Travel Studio interfaces with a number of accounting systems, allowing clients to use their chosen accounts package yet still access the latest reservation technology. Current interfaces included with the system include Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Oracle Financials, Sage Accounts, SAP Financials, SUN Accounts and many others. The processes and workflows to integrate with a financial system are standard within Travel Studio; however the data formats and fields included can be configured according to your requirements.
Data Warehouse
In order to provide a fast and efficient route to implementing a data warehouse, Open Destinations can provide a pre-build data warehouse that connects and refreshes from your Travel Studio system.
This provides your business of the assurance that the data in the warehouse is accurately sourced from the correct part of your transactional system.
Open Destinations recognizes that organizations frequently have existing investment in MIS systems and therefore provides this warehouse in SQL Server to allow all 3rd party MIS systems to be connected and configured to your requirements.
Open Destinations currently have users using a variety of tools such as Cognos, Crystal and ProClarity to view their data cubes.
CRM
Travel Studio has powerful CRM functionality to enable the capture of both B2C customers and B2B agents & wholesalers. The CRM module is fully integrated in the reservation system enabling full booking and quotation history to be reviewed. A wide range of client information can be captured in the system including the ability to create your own fields based on the specific needs of your business.
Information points can be connected to specific products to ensure that key information is captured at time of booking for each customer based on their itinerary. Relationships between your customers can be built and viewed in the system and then optionally used to group clients into households for marketing and documentation processes. A marketing campaign builder is included with the system to allow you to build segments of customer data for prospecting and reporting purposes.
Reports Engine
Travel Studio is integrated with the industry leading Crystal Reports system from SAP. An extensive library of reports is shipped with the system, but Crystal Reports allows you to build your own high quality reports quickly and simply. Once a new report has been created you register it within Travel Studio and it is immediately available to your users. Users can now access the report using selection criteria built within Travel Studio. All reports are available on screen with options to print or export into MS Excel, Word and PDF formats.
A key indicator in any reservations department is the margin being made on bookings made in the system. Travel Studio offers a variety of tools to allow you to track the margins you expect to make against the actual margins being achieved. The standard system reports allow profitability comparisons that allow you to quickly identify where problems are occurring.
