NEWS – OPEN DESTINATIONS PUTS TRAVEL TECHNOLOGY ON THE AGENDA AT LONDON’S FIRST EVER TECHNOLOGY WEEK

Leading travel technology provider Open Destinations has joined forces with Travolution to put travel technology on the agenda at London’s first ever Technology Week.

The session, entitled Travel Technology: What Does the Future Hold?, will be bringing together industry leaders from Skyscanner and Google to discuss future trends of the travel industry and the role technology will play.  Topics of discussion will include Skyscanner’s Future of Travel 2024 report, as well as Google’s perspective on the increasingly connected nature of the traveller and how this is affecting channels, access to content and paths to purchase.

The event also coincides with the 15-year anniversary of Open Destinations, which is one of the original travel technology firms based in Tech City.  ‘We are pleased to be partnering with Travolution to put travel technology on the agenda during Tech Week,’ says Kevin O’Sullivan, CEO of Open Destinations.  ‘We have seen Tech City grow immensely since we joined the community and Tech Week has given us an opportunity to bring this community together to discuss the latest innovations and what lies ahead for the future.’

Travel Technology: What Does the Future Hold? will be held on 18th June from 18:00 – 20:00 in London.   The event is expected to attract over 80 guests spanning all areas of the travel technology industry, including leading tour operators, GDS suppliers, payment gateways and emerging start-ups.
